For the last 5 years I have been dedicated to developing the very best temperature regulating, moisture wicking, antimicrobial uniforms. Twice as Nice uniforms are also stylish, long lasting, professional looking and protective for the wearer. As a dental hygienist, I needed a scrub that moved with me but retained its shape. I also needed temperature regulation. Did you know that the #1 conflict between the employees in medical and dental offices is the thermostat! Especially now we have employees that are burning up under their PPEs and other workers freezing in the same office. I know all too well what’s it’s like trying to treat patients with sweat running down my back or so layered up under my scrubs that I can’t move. Being too hot or too cold leads healthcare workers to not preforming their best which leads to patient treatment being compromised. I have also been very frustrated with the limited selection of stylish scrubs – as a former fashion model, style and fit are very important to me.

My Journey

My first step was designing a removable liner – this gives the wearer a choice and provides them with two-scrubs-in-one. I researched high performance fabrics and discovered a very thin, temperature-regulating, moisture-wicking fabric perfect for fitting under scrubs without adding bulk. The first day that I wore my prototype to work, I was amazed! I was temperature regulated, felt like I looked good, and I could move freely! I wanted to share this with everyone! What a difference this made to my workday.

Next, I started developing the outer fabric. I needed a fabric that was easy to care for, required no ironing and did not pill or fade. Soft fabric with a little stretch seemed like the right way to go. My fabric moves with you and stays looking beautiful.

Over the last 5 years we have listened to our customers and added more products, accessories and PPEs all with the same temperature regulating, professional, stylish and safe qualities.

When we feel good about our appearance, it reflects in our overall well-being. When you look good, you feel good! The fit of medical scrubs has always baffled me. Why do we have to wear outfits to work that look like our pajamas? Medical uniforms were ready for an updated style that fits all body types and makes us look like the professional we are. In designing Twice as Nice Uniforms, I worked with a fit specialist and designed a scrub that is very flattering to all female body types, is comfortable and looks amazing!

As a healthcare provider, I am very proud of my profession and education. Like any other professionals, we deserve to look good and project a professional appearance while we go about our busy day. Your patients will recognize and appreciate the image that you project in a stylish, well-tailored, high quality uniform.
