About the artist:
Rhonda is a native Houstonian and life-trained artist. Her latest body of work is a series of art inspired mantras brought to life in her original works of art. Rhonda works in a variety of mix media such as textiles, ceramics and paints to blend a unique collage of textures into her art.
From the bold and rhythmic patterns of West African fabrics to the fineandmade papers of Japan, much of Rhonda’s creativity is inspired by her travels. Having traveled to more than 14 countries, she believes that each destination brings a powerful opportunity to create healing art experiences with others around the world. Rhonda has published several of her original art works, in public and private collections nationally and internationally .
A registered dental hygienist of 30 years, Rhonda has discovered first hand the healing power of art as she has transformed her passion for wellness and creativity into a growing line of healing art products under her personal brand known as ARTRRA (Art by Rhonda Radford Adams). Having served as director for the Art Angels Healing Arts Program, Rhonda has worked extensively with community organizations, hospitals and schools to provide social wellness through the arts with the young and young at heart. She has also merged the knack for storytelling with her enthusiasm for dental health education and creator of a children’s health education program , entitled ”The Hot S.P.I.T. Chronicles”.
Rhonda believes strongly in the power of giving and volunteers much of her free time to select health arts programs both locally and abroad. Hence, she shares these creative experiences thru " FEELanthropy", an online blog program that promotes health arts resources and activities designed to inspire a lifestyle of creativity and wellness.
